A concert featuring the music of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries. The Missa Brevis in A major is a joyous and sparkling work, sunny in nature although composed for Christmas. Bach knew Pergolesi’s expressive ‘Stabat Mater’, and even made his own arrangement of it. There will be movements from two Cantatas, and the great motet ‘Singet dem Herrn’
